Gum Inflammation and Periodontitis

The supporting structure for the teeth, the so-called periodontium, represents a complex set of collagenous tissues and performs a number of functions. It does not just hold the tooth in the jaw, but also prevents microorganisms and harmful substances from penetrating into the root area

Periodontitis begins with a mild inflammation of the gums caused by deposition of invisible bacterial plaque in the dental necks. This plaque is dangerous not only for the gums, but also for the teeth as it can lead to dental caries and further tooth loss. Bleeding of the gums while brushing the teeth is one of the most important signs of inflammation of the gums.

Due to abnormality of the microflora of the oral cavity, inflammation of the gums and periodontitis are often accompanied by an unpleasant mouth odor.

The integrated approach comprises supplementation with nutritional substances (formulations) involved in the synthesis of the gum structures and the use of products with soothing and anti-inflammatory effects to maintain good oral hygiene. If necessary, products for the regulation of the acid-base balance and restoration of the intestinal flora are added to the formulations to keep the gums and teeth healthy.

The formulas contain vitamins C, D, minerals (calcium and magnesium), Coenzyme Q10, and other antioxidants, as well as isolated proteins. The formulations also include Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA), Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), and Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids.

It is also worth noting high-quality medical dental creams, gels, and mouthwashes. Dental creams contain tea tree oil known for its antibacterial effect, peppermint oil, silicic acid, active ingredients from Sage and Propolis in Aagard quality. Dental gels contain Chamomile, Sage, Mirra, as well as Aagard propolis. Mouthwash products comprise vitamin C from Barbados cherry, cranberries, ginger, and copper microelement.
